First Weekend Happenings!

WE ATE KANGAROO!
When we returned home from our Sunshine Coast travels on Saturday, our family was invited to the Wilkerson's, one of the homestay families, for dinner. Little did we know that the dinner would involved grilled meats of all kinds....beef, prawns (shrimp), and kangaroo (of course!) We had to try a little of everything! The kangaroo tasted like chicken...NOT! Viktor, of course, had to play in the fire.

Sunday Activities

CHURCH
Sunday morning, we attended church and got to hear Viktor preach. A few of our students participated in a drama that addressed how we all hide behind masks to avoid dealing with weakness. The service was well-done, I thought, and both Viktor and the students delivered powerful messages.

Sunday afternoon, we began rehearsals for our upcoming AMOS trip. You may not know this, but for one week of our trip, we will be participating in a church-sponsored mission trip that will allow us to go into public schools and aboriginal communities to share the Gospel. AMOS (Australian Mission Outreach Support) takes several trips a year led by our fearless leader, Paul Johnson.

So, what did we need to rehearse? Glad you asked.....

AMOS REHEARSALS
Our trip within a trip was going to involve our students and faculty releasing our inner child!! We learned puppet skits, dramas, and even learned how to dance aboriginal-style: shake-a-leg!

You'll have greater appreciation for these pictures later...wait until you see the costumes!!

Our AMOS rehearsals took us through the day on Monday, and we left for who-knows-what on Tuesday!!
